Welcome to the Beaudesert Lead On home page

Please take a few minutes to read the following letter, as the information is relevant to you as a young person in the Beaudesert community.

Youth involvement within the community is important for a number of reasons:

  • Firstly, young people are aware of issues that are relevant to them.
  • Secondly, young people have a say in their community and in their future.
  • And thirdly, young people have every opportunity available to them to build a network to develop skills for the future.

Important qualities that Lead On aims to develop within young people include growing confidence levels, the ability to make good decisions, engage sense of enterprise, and self esteem, to speak up and give valued opinions and to make a difference in their local and broader community.

Previous community activities that have been conducted within theBeaudesert Shire include, the film festival, No Limits Youth fashion design awards, loop magazine, the Youth Express in 2004, Along with many other projects, all of which have been highly successful. Lead On offers young people the opportunity to take part in initiatives and projects within their local community and develop their own individual abilities during the process.

Lead ON is currently developing and leading new initiatives to encourage more young people to become actively involved in the community by being involved in community projects, attending meetings or even just attending community functions and being aware of the local community.

As being a valued member of Lead On you will have the privilege of working with many young people within our community, who have made many great achievements and who have contributed to our community through their accomplishments in sport, music, performing arts and through being representatives for our community through many ventures.

Through Lead On we hope to encourage young people to have an active awareness of the community and to encourage young people to express their opinions about the community and openly discuss the issues that are relevant to them.

At Lead On we believe we have many significant projects that provides opportunities for young people to research and write about something they believe is important, to meet people from their community and beyond who they may never had the chance to meet or speak with, learn more about how their community operates, meet good people and to grow skills previously unavailable to them.

We at Lead On, would very much like you to contribute to our community and in turn develop skills and the ability to allow young people to take ownership of our community.
